Fireworks Are Back

Disney Parks continue to get closer to “pre-pandemic” offerings, and today’s announcement is another big step in that direction.

FIREWORKS

ARE

BACK

Today Disney announced the following shows will be returning:

Happily Ever After @ Magic Kindom: July 1

Epcot Forever @ Epcot: July 1

Mickey’s Mixed Magic @ Disneyland: July 4

So a couple of thoughts.  First, Epcot Forever at Epcot was a bit of a surprise, especially given that that the HarmonioUS barges are already in World Showcase Lagoon.  Since they are continuing to test the barges daily, it seems easy to conclude that the show just isn’t ready yet.  Epcot Forever was a great filler show and given that most of it is aerial in nature, it’s an easy placeholder until HarmonioUS is ready.

We also haven’t received any news on a nighttime show at Hollywood Studios, notably Fantasmic.  Others have speculated that this delay is likely due to calling cast members back for rehearsals and prep time.  Don’t forget that the show lake was drained earlier in the year.  No word yet on whether it’s been filled.

I also would have guessed that Disneyland would have gone with Disneyland Forever at the Happiest Place on Earth, but Mickey’s Mixed Magic is an awesome show.  Still waiting on when World of Color will return to Disney’s California Adventure.

I remember being excited seeing a few flares flying off on Cinderella Castle during the holidays.  I called them “Baby Fireworks.”  I can’t imagine how awesome it’s going to be to see Happily Ever After once again.
