Walt Disney World 50th Anniversarsy - News

Just breaking on Good Morning America this morning - all four major park icons will receive makeover for thee 50th anniversary celebration.  The golden anniversary begins October 1, 2021 and will run for 18 months.  Here are the artist concept images (via Walt Disney Company). 

 

Cinderella Castle will receive new lighting, ornaments and other special decorations to ring in the big anniversary celebration.  Although no specifics have been released, it looks like the changes for the Hollywood Tower Hotel, Tree of Life, and Spaceship Earth will be in the form of special lights and projections.  Spaceship Earth in particularly will receive a new light treatment in the exterior panels.  The view of Spaceship Earth behind the new pylon and fountain should look spectacular. 

While we're excited to see the changes, it's clear we won't see anything as dramatic as this:
