Welcome to Dads & Disney!

If you have managed to stumble across this page, it might mean that you are a Dad, but it almost certainly means that you are looking for information relating to Disney.  Hopefully you have come to the right place.  My inspiration for creating this site was triggered one night during a recent trip to the Walt Disney World Resort.  I was sitting on the Monorail with my wife and daughter and was reflecting on how incredibly fortunate I was to share this special moment with them.  Family vacations to Walt Disney World are a cherished childhood memory of mine.  It was surreal to take  my daughter does the same thing and I have the same rights as I once enjoyed as a youngster. 

As a lawyer who represented clients in divorce, I was familiar with the term "Disney Dad."  It was an unflattering phrase to describe a parent who was not involved in providing day-to-day care for the children,  but instead was relegated to taking the children on fun trips such as Disney.  As I stood on the monorail traveling from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary resort, I decided that the phrase and usage needed to be changed.  I am a dad who loves spending time with my child everyday and who also also takes her to Disney pats, movies and shows.

Around the world, there are thousands and thousands of dads who feel the same way that I do.  I don't know what this website is going to become.  But my hope is that it will grow into a community where other dads and Disney enthusiasts can share their experiences and insight.  That means lots of comments, suggestions, stories, questions and answers. 

This site is not going to be a "Disney News" site - there are already dozens and dozens of those.  The internet is filled with blogs, Twitter accounts, and YouTube channels that will "break" Disney news.  Instead, this site will be a forum to share tips, ideas, and stories from dads and for dads who want to continue to share the magic of Disney with their children.  So PLEASE leave your comments.  Email us with anything you would like to share.  Every Dad who has seen the look on his child's face when they first see Cinderella's Castle, or share that first hug with Mickey, or scream through Space Mountain knows what a magical place the Disney parks can be.  This site is for you guys.  So let's have some fun!
